Whilst living in New York City and working as a concierge for a Hilton Hotel, Imani started on her Pilates journey looking for a low impact method of exercise that was not going to impinge her already weak knees and hips. She went to a Reformer Class at NY Pilates and was hooked. In regards to Pilates she proclaims “I love the body awareness, mind focus and the ability to comfortably push my boundaries of strength and control”
Imani started to transition from her career in Hospitality to a career in Wellbeing by attending an ‘All Populations’ Mat Course with Pilates Academy International at the famed Pilates on Fifth. Over time she continued to certify in Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Ladder Barrel. After becoming fully certified in STOTT apparatus with Pilates on Fifth, Imani was asked to teach classes and private clients at the studio and gladly accepted. She taught for Pilates on Fifth up until her move back to England in late summer of 2018, where she hasn't missed a beat and is teaching local Mat and Reformer classes.
Imani hopes to help clients gain mobility, resilience, and confidence in what their body can achieve.
