Originally from Norway, Guro moved to the UK in 1996 to study - and ended up staying a bit longer than intended. Having had problems with back and shoulder pain for many years, Guro turned to Pilates in 2005, hoping it would help preventing the pain, rather than just treating it. Experiencing the power of Pilates, and how it made such a change to her own physical and mental health, she became so inspired that she left her job at the BBC to become a teacher herself.

Guro trained with Body Control Pilates and qualified to Matwork Level 3 in 2012, and gained her Reformer qualification in 2018. She is also qualified to teach Pilates for Bone Health, Hip Replacement Recovery, and Pre- and Postnatal Pilates, and is currently training in Myofascia movement. She is continuing to learn and explore the human body, and is forever in awe of the close link between body and mind.

Guro is dedicated to helping people move and understand their bodies better, hoping what you learn in class will be with you for life. As a keen runner and a lover of yoga and dance, she loves how Pilates compliments other movement disciplines too. She is passionate about making everyone feel comfortable, happy and welcomed in her classes, and she thinks everyone needs a little - or ideally a lot - Pilates in their lives!
