Teacher Feature - Anna
Anna recently joined the Mycore team after qualifying as a Body Control Pilates Matwork Level 3 instructor. Anna passionately believes in the benefits of Pilates at any age and for any lifestyle. Let's find out a little more about Anna:
Anna, what sparked your interest in Pilates?
I started when I was pregnant with my second child and suffering with back and pelvic pain, which continued long after the birth. No amount of physiotherapy, osteopathy, or other treatment eased the discomfort… but Pilates came to the rescue!
Favourite Pilates exercise? Any of the advanced inversions e.g. boomerang, control balance. I also love a good side bend / mermaid
Best moment as a Pilates teacher? When my first 1-2-1 client told me all her back and neck pain had disappeared and that she'd fallen in love with Pilates.
What do you love about your job? I love sharing my passion with other people and seeing the benefit in their bodies. Also meeting and working with a bunch of really fun, good people is pretty special too.
How would your colleagues at Mycore describe you? Short, with long arms!!! (Hopefully they'd also say something nice!)
What did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to be a dancer.
An interesting fact about you? I'm also a practising pharmacist
Superpower you'd like to have? To click my fingers and everything would tidy itself (like Mary Poppins)
Three things on your Bucket list? I'd love to go to Japan, to see the Northern Lights and to fly First Class.
Celeb you'd choose to be stuck on a desert island with? Carlos Acosta, the ballet dancer, so I could dance with him!
Favourite places in Hitchin? I absolutely love a Groundworks brunch or a Hermitage Rd Coffee. I also love running through the fields and lanes of Gosmore and St Ippolyts
Your life motto? You'll never know unless you try
